The Brisbane Craft and Quilt Fair.

  BQACS

Hi everyone.

This is just a reminder that the Brisbane Craft and Quilt Show opened yesterday and will be having all sorts of exciting goodies on offer until Sunday.

I have my Newest Pattern at the Show.....

                                  The Itty Bitty Bag!

   Itty Bitty Blueberry Girls Cover2

It's only a little bag- but holds all your sewing project needs- pattern, sewing project, scissors, pen and has a pincushion for keeping all your pins.

... And, the pattern has a second design so you can have one design on the front- and another on the back.

Or two bags each with a different design.

  On another note.......

I just have to say- my Free Patterns are just that.

They are my gift to all my friends who visit my blog.

And are my way of saying "thank-you".

It's something we can all do together. And something I'm hoping you can get enjoyment from.

So- imagine my surprise, and disappointment, when I heard that someone was selling my Free patterns.

Downloading them from the blog, printing them out - and selling them.

I guess there's not a lot anyone can do if people do this- but it is - very disappointing.

Sorry to read about someone selling your free patterns. Most disappointing that this has happened. Can't wait to see your new Christmas patterns. Hugs,

Oh my goodness. That is terrible news.
I love your free patterns and am always keen to make your things for myself or for my friends.
You are so generous and I hope that this does not happen anymore.

I am excited and can't wait for your Christmas patterns. Cheers,
Simone

I am verry shocked to reed that your free patterns been sold!
Verry bad news i am afraid your so generous (??!! hope i write it well..) to us. I am not that far with the wish quilt but i enjoy it verry much and look forward to your new pattern!!
Silvia

It is a pity that happens with free patterns.
How about a watermark on the free patterns stating that they are FREE and as such should not be sold. (Using your own wording of course.)
I know if I saw something like that on a pattern, there is no way I would be purchasing said pattern.

Sorry to hear that Bronwyn, I don't know how some people sleep at night!!!!! I thought Michelle-Marie's suggestion was a good idea. I'm sure I've seen that on some of the free patterns somewhere.

YAY!! Itty Bitty is out! Will email Peter tomorrow :+)
How sad that people print and sell your work! The cheek! maybe you should put a faint copywrite sign that says not to be copied etc on each page. I know its a lot of work, but people should not be profiting from this! You are SO generous with doing SO many freebies!
x Sarah

Some people are just low life. Yep - put a watermark on your stuff - then at least they have to re draw it before they can sell it. I'm intrigued by that mug bag... is it a pattern?

I agree with Michele-Marie, some sort of marking could help? in any case, this is terrible and I'm sorry that someone is doing this. It is exactly this sort of dreadful behaviour that I'm sure drives some designers to stop sharing free designs with their loyal and decent followers. I hope there is some sort of recourse for you Bronwyn

As a fellow designer, I feel your disappointment. In today's world, I guess that is the price we pay to offer our free designs...but, yes it is disappointing. At a minimum, you should contact this person and ask them to remove your designs from their site. And, I think you should also let your viewers know ...by providing a link to that corrupt site...so that we too can voice our disappointment to them. Maybe if they are "caught" by enough...it will not be worth their time to continue.

Anyway, enough of the negative...I wanted you to know that I'm just in love with your mushroom house pincushion project! I'm going to share a link today with my blog followers so that they can come and find your site too! Just wonderful...and I'm a new follower!

Kathy

I am a fairly new follower of this blog and can't begin to say how much I like it!

I am so disappointed to hear that others are selling YOUR designs. I agree that this person should be told to stop doing this immediately. The designs are yours and yours alone.

I appreciate your "freebies" and am honored to be able to make some of your things for my own use. I would hate to think that someone may stop you from continuing with your free designs.

Hang in there. LOVE THIS BLOG!

I have been reading your blog for a long time now and have always loved your free patterns. They are such a treasure and a special treat! You have been so generous and kind to share them with all of us. I'm sorry that there are people out there that feel they have to make money off of everything that they can. Just because they lack the talent to create beautiful designs of their own, does not give them the right to steal someone elses designs!

I too am sorry to hear of someone selling your gifts for profit. I love your patterns and you have been very generous to share your designs with us. I love The Wish Quilt. I once bought a pattern on ebay and was disturbed to receive pages ripped from a magazine. How any one can think they can profit from other people's work--I just don't understand!

I, too, am sorry that others are taking advantage of your generosity. Several bloggers have recently posted about blog scrapers. I don't understand why people choose to be dishonest like this.

Thank you for your kind heart and giving spirit.

I'm really sorry for you. You're so generous. It's a pity some take unfair advantage !
Thanks for all the presents you offer us.

I am also very shocked that people like that take advantage of your kindness of sharing your creativity with others. For now I am enjoying further with making the wish quilt and hope to finish it before Christmas. Our quilting Bee is also very enthousiast about the design and I gave them your site too so they can enjoy your beautiful designs and be inspired by it.

shock.. horror... some people can not get any lower.... I along with so many others... appreciate the time and effort designers put into creating patterns.... but for a designer to share FREE their creativity is so great... thank you

woooo your blog is wonderfull, thanks por patrons!!!!!

It's very disappointing to hear someone would take what is not there's and try and profit from it. The sad thing is you can't stop these types of people if they are determined and they spoil it for others. I like to think they 'will reap what they sow'.
We also cannot let these people change who we are and what we stand for.

I really enjoy your blog and I am sorry that someone would be so sneaky. I hope that it doesn't happen again. I also had a question, can I buy your patterns in the U.S.? If yes, then where? Thank you!

I can't believe someone did that, but I do hear about people on ebay and other sites who copy patterns that they bought and sell them, really a shame. Love that little mouse, can't wait to see the new patterns.

Debbie

Just agreeing with all the above comments, Bronwyn! Some people make me sick!!!!! Sharing and lending patterns amongst friends is one thing but making financial gain from someone else's hard work is definitely not on!! Cuppa tea to recover!!!! xxxx

Bronwyn I am so very sorry and annoyed that someone is selling your free designs. It must be so disappointing and upsetting for you. Someone always has to spoil a good thing . You are very kind and generous to share your designs with us and I really enjoy making them. Thankyou so very very much. Angel hugs.

I thank you for all the lovely freebies you give us sewers, and I too am quite disgusted at the thought people take advantage by selling your designs. It is very low indeed, but they know your designs will sell - they are so good! I just hope you won't stop putting out freebies for your loyal followers! I just love your quirky designs - they are fantastic!

Thank you for letting us share your wonderful Wish Quilt so generously. Sad,sad, sad that some artless folk steal others' creativity. Kind regards, Penny

Love your new design - that bag is just gorgeous. So sorry to hear that someone would sell your free patterns - that is just so wrong. You are so generous sharing these patterns with us - I can't understand why someone would do this.
