Pimp your craft jars for spring

Jars-by-red-brolly

We've had a beautiful week of whether here in Canberra and I'm starting to feel that spring is finally here. I've been to see the tulips, wandered through gardens and have been enjoying the sunshine. Isn't it amazing how the whether can change your mood?

Anyway, my friends on Facebook will know that I started cleaning out a few things, dusting things and having a general spring clean and airing out of the house. Whilst in the midst of this...I stopped and looked around and decided that I had made more mess having a clean out that what there was to start with!! Does this happen to you? You have to make a mess to clean up a mess! From our conversation on Facebook it seems like I'm not the only one...many of you find forgotten about "to do" projects and your workload increases!!

I looked around my room and my eyes fell on my desktop. An area of my workspace where I spend A LOT of my time. Whether I'm drawing, painting, designing, on the phone or on the computer (being on the computer takes up more of my time than I would like!) I spend a huge majority of my day at my desk. I was looking at this space and decided that it was looking a little tired, a little boring...it needed some BLING I thought. Immediately I had to start pimping up my space. I thought that you might like to spice up and bling your workspace/ craft room etc too. Over the next few weeks I'll be sharing with you some simple and quick ideas.

What you'll need are some jars/containers and some lovely decorative tape.

Tape-2
Simply take your lovely containers, jars, bottles and carefully wrap the tape around the jar to pimp them up. I love the clear lace tape. It looks gorgeous.

Tapes-3
Lots of glass jars all different shapes would look spectacular. You could hace them on show and they wouldn't need to be hidden away.

Make a display out of your craft supplies.

You could even use recycled jars, perhaps you have a few mason jars lying around. We all know how good they are!

A handy tip taken from a book of household hints from the early 1900's. I'll be sharing a few of these with you throughout my blog as I find these kinds of tips interesting and believe that we can learn a lot from our mother's and grandmother's ways. Hope you appreciate them as much as I do.

Have a great weekend.

What good timing I have just bought some jars to store things in my sewing room and they could do with some bling.
We're did you get the tape from ?

Great ideas - never thought to decorate clear jars. Thanx.

I thought of your trip last week anticipating seeing your gorgeous photos!! I am sure it was amazing! Thanks for "bringing" us along!

Brilliant idea. I try and keep nice unusual shaped glass jars, I've never seen that sort of tape though.

The jars look great but I have to ask too, where do you get the beautiful tapes?

Hi Ladies...
These are my three favourite shops I go to to buy decorative little bits and pieces. I bought a selection of decorative tape from these gorgeous shops...

What a great suggestion. Those moconna coffee jars are great to decorate too. I like to put little quilts around them and button them on!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ADVICES, ALWAYS INTERESTING !
