Lights, music, markets, marching girls and tulips
I spent a lovely weekend in Bowral in the Southern Highlands of NSW, celebrating it's annual Tulip time festival. Something I've been going to with the family since the beginning. It was lots of fun...marching bands, a main street parade, open gardens, tulips, markets, shopping, buskers, lunching, shopping, spring weather, high tea and tulips after dark. A fab weekend was had by all! Here's a snap shot of the weekend...
(please note some photos are courtesy of Southern Highlands News as my camera battery died!...Who hasn't had this happen at a crucial time?)
This spot here holds a special memory...in my son's younger years, he fell in the water! I had to jump in and rescue him. Something we've never let him live down.
Hope you had a lovely weekend.

Wow! The tulips are gorgeous, especially the pink ones. Looks like a wonderful place to spend a lovely day. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely pictures. I always though you were in USA or Canada, but because of the tulips I suppose it is somewhere on, for me, the opposite side of the world: Australia or New Sealand? (you see it confuses me a bit...LOL) I am from Holland, in spring we always have lots of tulips in our garden, love them a lot!

Thank you for the lovely little holiday. I have been so busy at work - it was nice to catch a parade, a juggler and the color of those first tulips was amazing.

I'm in Brisbane now, but I grew up in Bowral & did my nursing training at the Bowral & District hospital. The tulip festival was always great, but 40yrs ago they never had a parade. Loved seeing all the tulips again. Must go back down again sometime. Haven't been back since my Mum died 15yrs ago. Corbett Gardens still look beautiful.
