We Are Family.

Just briefly popping in to say  .... Guess What?! It's Time for Christmas

Australian Homespun January 2012 Issue is out!!

                           In stores now!

And... it has in it the first part of my three month B.O.M Quilt-  We Are Family!

Here's a preview of the quilt with those gorgeous French General Fabrics.

It's Time for Christmas-quilt

This is a very special quilt- you can record all the details of your family- births, marriages, special occasions.......events that are unique to your family.

A family record that can be kept or handed down or given as a special gift.

      Church

In the first part you can record:

                  wedding dates - or places....

Bride

   Who was married.....

Cake

and who made that wonderful wedding cake...

Family001

There's a Family Tree -to tell about your family History- or your family as it is today.

I chose to write in the details of the first of my family to arrive in Australia. They sailed from Ireland aboard the ship "China" in 1839.

The widow Hayes and her TEN children.

Family004

And at the bottom of the Family Tree- I've written the names of the parents of the ten children and the date they were married (William died just before they were to sail to Australia).

Imagine the My Family Quilt as a very special wedding gift...

Or Birthday present....

Or Mother's Day....or.....

Maybe... it would just be great to hang on your wall at home to record a very special "My Family".

And I've only shown you Part One.

Part Two- Vol. 13 No. 2 is on sale in February and the final part -Vol. 13 no.3 is on sale March.

I just thought I'd remind you to get your copy of Part One- before they all disappear!

                Keep stitching-  Back soon-

                  My Signature

I wag going thru some of my older magazines this morning and found something that was just what I was looling for and I found a store that carries Homespun magazine. Than k you for sharing these pictures and the beautiful work you do.

Its a lovely quilt Bronwyn and as you say - very approporate as a wedding or other sor tof 'memory' quilt

I wish I could get a copy!! Subscription to US so $$!!

Wonderful new quilt Bronwyn, I will be off to the Newsagent at earliest opportunity!!!

Wow!! That is a wonderful quilt.

I know the word is overuesd, but the only one I can think of that comes close is AWESOME. This quilt is a wonderful idea and it's absolutely awesome.

Bronwyn - I notice that an American commented on the high cost of obtaining a subscription to Homepsun magazine. The easiest, lowest cost solution is to buy a digital copy of the magazine. It's available at www.zinio.com

Also, your quilt is actually going to be published over four issues of the magazine, not three. There are so many individual designs and so much fabulous detail in each block that we simply couldn't squeeze everything in to three issues. So, it's going to appear in Vol 13 No 1 - Vol 13 No 4 inclusive.

Gorgeous - and inspiring - we're a month behind in NZ so I'll have to wait a little longer to see it in person..cant wait :-)

Beautiful quilt! I have been looking for HOMESPUN here in US, but haven't had any luck yet.

Congrats on such a lovely design! Happy crafting, Jenny

Thanks everyone.
If you're having trouble getting your hands on a hard copy of the magazine as Megan mentioned you can purchase a subscription to the magazine online from Zinio. Here's the link to the Australian Homespun page...
