Firstly a big thank-you to all my "sisters" on the Red Brolly Blog for all your wonderful- and sometimes very emotional- entries in the "Sisters" competition.
Sorry for the delay in announcing the winners- but the judges had much difficulty in deciding which ones were the winning entries.
My sister-in-law, SJVH, said there had to be a prize for the funniest entry. I hadn't thought of that- so she's chosen the winner of the funniest "sister" entry- which will be an extra prize!
O.K- these are the winners:

"I've been blessed with 2 younger sisters, each of us very different , with our own personalities. However I think my sisters are a door leading back to childhood and innocence. Each time I see them, I just can't help remembering those good old days. Being the eldest, I tend to be protective, especially since our beloved mother passed away, 16 years ago... but do not imagine our relationship is only made of nostalgia! No, no, no: we love having fun together, and we know that we can count on each other, come rain or come shine... Some other special sisters have come to embellish my life: these are the close friends that I met through quilting and blogging. I'm calling them my sissies, and they really are. How couldn't I be happy with such blessings in my life?"

To have a twin sister means have an additional life memory.(Do you remember when....?),it means open the fridge and find out a slurp-gift (or leave it in her fridge) and looong walking all together in the evening with our dog and husbands talking of anything and feeling the summer together ....

"My sister is a dag! She is rough and tough and protected me at school. She thinks I am crazy cutting up pieces of fabric and then joining them back together. But never says no when I offer her one of my latest creations. Gotta love her!!!"
And My Sister-in-Law's Choice:
Silvia Broekhuis: l.broekhuis1@kpnplanet.nl
"I don't have a sister but my friend Janny is the sister I don't have. She's the one that comes to the hospital(after I had a motor accident)and helps me to remove the black hairs on my chin....When I wqasn't able to go to the bathroom. I didn't want to show them to the doctors....
And now I am at home she's the one that makes things going ok in the house with four daughters..."
My sister-in-law loved this one because her grandmother Doris made the plucking of black chin hairs when in hospital a Family Law for other members of her family!
Congratulations to all the winners!
